Why your Facebook Page gets so little reach, and why groups do better
A business Page post usually reaches just a few percent of its followers, and no clever wording will fix that. Page posts compete with friends, Reels and recommendations for space in the feed, and Facebook shows posts with links to other sites least of all. Groups work differently, and that's where free reach still exists.
Why Page reach is so low
A Page post competes for space in the feed with friends' photos, Reels and posts from strangers that Facebook recommends. And posts with links to other sites get shown least of all. Marketers estimate that a Page post typically reaches 1–3% of followers. Meta doesn't publish its own numbers, but nobody really disputes that reach is low.
How posts spread in groups
A group post is shown first to people who are active in that group. If people start commenting, it gets shown to more and more members, and it moves back up the group feed. That's why one lively discussion can do more than a week of Page posts, and why replying to comments matters so much.
What raises reach
- 01Start with an easy question, ideally one people have an opinion about. Ideas in what to post.
- 02Leave links out of the post itself when you can.
- 03Make the post different in every group: text, photo, timing.
- 04Post when people in the group are awake. More in the best time to post.
- 05Show up regularly. A little almost every day is better than a batch of posts once a week followed by silence.
A simple strategy
- 01Find groups by topic and activity. Size matters least. How to find groups.
- 02Earn trust. Answer questions, comment, share useful things. Only then offer something.
- 03Post in a cycle: a helpful post, a customer review, a soft offer. Then repeat.
- 04Scale up with a tool that posts from your own account. Since 2024, you can't post to groups through an API.
- 05Protect your accounts: limits by account age, pauses, different versions of each post. More in posting limits.
- 06Review results every month and clean up your group list.
A weekly plan
- Monday. Look at how last week went and drop dead groups.
- Tuesday. Write two helpful posts and one offer, with variations.
- Wednesday to Friday. Posts go out on schedule, each list at its best time.
- Every day. Spend 15 minutes replying to comments and helping people in your main groups.
What to look at in your results
- Did the post go live? Published, declined or stuck in pending? If posts are being quietly filtered, this is where you'll see it first.
- Conversation. Comments and replies.
- Actions. Messages, link clicks and sales. It helps to give each group its own link.
The groups with the most comments aren't always the ones with the most sales. Keep an eye on both.
How Postyfy helps
- The Report: what happened in each group (published, pending or skipped), with before and after screenshots.
- Statistics: totals for any period by account and by group, so you can see which groups to keep.
- The Schedule and group lists: set up your Wednesday, Thursday and Friday posts once, and they go out every week.
Let Postyfy do the repetitive part
Warm-up, spintax, AI rewrites, pauses between groups and one schedule for all your accounts. Set it up once, then just check the report.
